From the New York Times articles, I chose to read about a Justin.tv new app for iphone/ipod touch users. The reason why I decided to read this one is because I used to always go to Justin.tv online when I was at a place that didn't have television and I wanted to watch a show. Also I would sometimes watch people randomly posting what they were doing. But in this article it is explaining how we can now watch television and do online stream with this app from the touch a few buttons from your iphone/ipod touch. This made me think about vlogging in this class. We will be vlogging pretty soon and because I just downloaded this app to my phone, I am thinking about trying this out. If not I still have my webcam to use but regardless, I think it is very amazing that the company is offering TV and live streaming access to iphone/ipod touch users for free!
How crazy is it that people can record and upload videos from our phones? I was thinking about that today. I tried to do my intro video from Veggie Delits camera and it wouldn't upload onto my lap top. I thought of the idea of recording it from my phone and then uploading it to YouTube. It's unbelievable that devices that were supposed to be for just making calls now have the ability to upload what we are thinking onto the internet. The new iPhones are insane as well. Being able to basically have a webcam chat with someone from your PHONE is CRAZY.
ReplyDeleteThe iphone and itouch applications are wonderful. I do not use a iphone, but am currently an owner of a itouch. I bought the itouch just for its main purpose, which is to listen to music, but noticed the applications too, and started downloading right away finding myself addicted to all different kinds.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree that is pretty crazy how we can watch stream movies on that little thing. I am still amazed by the original contents, and these new features are just as more alluring.
I was passing by the Apple store and noticed that new phones allow a person to see the receiver on the other end with what they call, Face Time. Again, it is AMAZING!
Interesting. I have never been to Justin.TV but I will check it out later. I think it’s cool that Hulu and some other sites are getting networks to team up with them and offer free TV streaming. I think they could put ads in it and it could be just like watching it on cable, but it’s all On Demand. I assume that means someone will invent a TiVo for your computer soon too, which would be nice. I also like how this is going handheld – Netflix for iPhone, the new Apple TV stuff they just announced. It seems like in a couple years we will have everything On Demand, which I am really excited for. Once I got TiVo I never sat down at a specific time to watch a TV show unless it was really important to me. I also think its cool how On Demand is taking over. I read the other day that Redbox and Blockbuster DVD kiosks are already in danger of losing customers to On Demand services, and that’s crazy because Redbox is just starting to get popular!
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of Jusintv, and I'm an Iphone user. I've had one since the day they've come out but I don't use it much for video! As soon as I finished posting this response I think I am going to go download that application. I love On Demand television, because I don't "make" time for television watching with my busy schedule. I live by my DVR. If I want to watch a particular show I will just record it for viewing at a later time. Being able to watch what I want from my phone is very appealing. I think this is an application I would actually use on a regular basis.
